Most relocation advice starts with the country. We start with you. Your income. Your family. Your priorities. Your tolerance for risk. Your non-negotiables. Then we work out which countries are actually worth investigating — using the same framework every time: cost of living, housing, healthcare, education, visa and residency options, tax, safety, and climate.
We spent three months living in Costa Rica, not visiting it. We tested the everyday version of the life — not the holiday version. We found a lot we loved. We also found enough real problems that most "moved to paradise" posts never mention. In the end, we decided it wasn't worth moving. That's not a failure story. That's the whole point: a country can look perfect on paper and still be wrong for your actual life.
